Safety Officer

  • Conduct frequent checks in the office, warehouse, tools and equipment as well as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Plan and implement safety policy as well as ensure the respective teams obeying safety rules
  • Assist team in the identification and/or clarification on safety related matters and advice on hazards or control measures
  • Conduct safety induction briefing and course for employees
  • Recommend safety measures, safe work procedures and environmental matters
  • Disseminate information from HQ on safety updates, incident sharing and/or new initiatives
  • Conduct safety briefings in toolbox meetings
  • Conduct incident investigations
  • Prepare incident investigation reports including recommending disciplinary action in the event of safety violations
  • Report on HIPO and near misses
  • Prepare EHS work plans
  • Report on monthly EHS Statistics
  • Cover duty for other EHS officers if required
  • Any other assigned tasks or duties


Job Requirement

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Occupational Safety, Occupational Health, Occupational Hygiene, Ergonomics, Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry or other relevant discipline to Occupational Safety and Health
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in logistic industry
  • Successfully completed a course in relation to WSH Officer (i.e. Safety Officer Training Course)
  • Familiar with OHSAS 18001 or ISO 14001 & risk management procedures
  • Possess a high level of initiative and integrity
  • Able to work Independently and possess good interpersonal skills
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proactive, independent, able to work with minimal supervision and perform under pressure
  • Preferred to have own mode of transportation as candidate is required to travel around different work locations
