Product Design Lead
ANAFORE PTE. LTD.

$7000 to $10000 (Monthly)

We’re looking for a Product Design Lead who’s passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of small to medium merchants around the world. We’re a fast-growing venture-backed SaaS startup based in Singapore. You will be working on challenging problems in a results-focused work environment for a global product and an emerging brand. With millions of consumers involved in our referral programs, your work will have a significant impact from day one.

ReferralCandy is a bit of a rarity. Everyone genuinely cares about each other. And you’ll get to join our fun, experienced, and inclusive team that cares deeply about visual storytelling and creating delightful, memorable experiences for our customers. If this sounds like your dream job, we’d love to hear from you!

Here's more about how we manage the company and our team blog.

The role

As an empathetic Design Lead, you’ll help us build and grow our product and the design team. You’ll help us stay grounded with research, transform merchant pains and opportunities into viable products. This is a very hands-on role with some management responsibilities. The position will evolve as the team grows.

What you’ll do

  • Help define and implement an inspiring, holistic product vision and design strategy to build delightful experiences for our merchants.

  • Help cultivate the design culture of the team and the company, including championing user-centric design thinking across the company and maintaining a collaborative design process.

  • Work closely with your peers across all departments (Engineering, Designers, Marketing, Customer Support) to help solve user and business goals.

  • Lead user research to determine the best approaches and methods to capture accurate insights; plan and run qualitative studies, including (but not limited to) user interviews, surveys, remote and in-person usability studies.

  • Communicate research findings to inform business decisions through the best possible means with relevant stakeholders to help inform our decision-making.

  • Manage and grow designers within the product team; this includes hiring and mentoring all levels of designers to deliver their best work.

  • Shape brand and visual identity as we evolve.

Who you are

  • (Required) You have a proven track record of designing successful products that users love. In addition, you have a background as a visual designer and UX designer.

  • (Required) You have hands-on experience with exploratory and evaluative qualitative research methods; you’ll have previous experience running research projects and usability tests.

  • (Required) You appreciate the value in research, but can also consider practical constraints – you understand what ‘just enough research’ means.

  • (Nice to have) You have empathy for merchant needs but can also consider technical constraints and business goals. You’re passionate about inclusive design and accessibility. You’ll design with all our users in mind (not just the ones that look like our team).

  • (Nice to have) You’re flexible in your approach and embrace a challenge; you can develop new ways of answering research questions quickly and communicating the results in a memorable, impactful way.

  • (Nice to have) You have previous experience in leading designers, and you’re passionate about developing designers’ skills and careers.

What’s in it for you

  • You’ll be able to provide direct input into how we should improve our product and the development of ReferralCandy.

  • You’ll get to work with amazing, friendly, smart colleagues all incredibly passionate about solving the merchant problems with customer acquisition.

  • You’ll lead the design – together with the rest of the product team – on a product that’s used by thousands today and millions tomorrow.

  • You’ll have autonomy and responsibility for your work direction; we also offer a flexible working environment.

  • We have regular company-sponsored socials (team events, board games and movie nights) that’ll allow you to catch up and make friends outside of your team.

Software Developer
ANAFORE PTE. LTD.

$4500 to $8000 (Monthly)

We're looking for a Software Developer that can help us to build products that help small businesses to grow and succeed.

Here's more about the team you'll be joining:

* There are 11 developers (a mix of junior to senior developers from a variety of nationalities, backgrounds and job experiences) in the team.

* Our developers are smart, competent and don't put up with bullshit. They are also positive, love to learn and can communicate well. They care about the product and user experience.

* Scrum is a process we use because it suits our needs. We don't do things for the sake of doing it. Estimates are something we try to spend as little time as possible and we try to solve issues with people instead of processes.

* Developers work very closely with UX designers to deliver features or improvements. We believe close collaboration with designers is essential to build the right product at the right pace, even if it comes with some communication overheads.

The Ideal candidate for this position:

* You realise that writing code is not an end in itself, instead, it is a means to provide value to our customers. You care about the product you are building, and about the experience that the users have with the product.

* You have great technical skills and have good programming fundamentals.

* You have some experience with our stack which includes frameworks and languages such as React.js, Node.js, Ruby, Rails and JavaScript. We use AWS cloud services heavily (Lambda, ECS, CloudFormation, CloudFront etc).

* You recognize that technical debt is sometimes necessary to take on or to let build up, but are able to advocate for clearing it up in a manner that allows proper prioritization of the technical debt versus other priorities.

* You enjoy working with non-technical people, especially designers. You don't see designers as a necessary evil, rather, you see them as partners that you need to work with to build the right product at the right pace.

* You have a positive attitude, a growth mindset, want to learn as fast as possible and work hard to do all that.

* You are a team player.

* You have excellent communication and people skills. You also value transparency and don't shy away from hard conversations if they are needed.

* You are a good administrator. You recognize that some paperwork is a necessary overhead to maintain a well running team. You commit to achieving what's promised, or you communicate why you can't achieve it.

What you can expect:

* You'll be working with world class developers. Our developers will push you to constantly improve together.

* You'll be working closely with designers on a daily basis.

* We work fast, sometimes break things, and expect everyone to take ownership of their roles. We focus on results so there is some flexibility around time and location of work, but that comes with a higher standard of communication and impact.

* You'll be working across the fullstack (front end, back end, devops etc).

* We are a product focused company and the product team is key to our growth. Our products are used by thousands of clients and millions of consumers. You'll play a pivotal role in this.

* There will be plenty of technical challenges as you'll have to work with a product that has some legacy issues, scale and a global customer base.

* We plan to expand. You'll get a chance to witness how a team and company grows
