Laboratory Manager
AP OIL PTE. LTD.

$4500 to $5500 (Monthly)

Job Description



  • Generate/Approve COA

  • Perform lab blends

  • Check and approve Job Slips

  • Rectify failed blends through adjustment of formulation

  • Advise on treatment/processing of old/ageing stocks, returned stocks and flushing oil, and develop consistent and systematic approach on this process (e.g. reblending)

  • Develop and update product equivalent charts between AP Oil and other brands

  • Keep up with lubricant trends and propose relevant product development projects

  • Optimize product formulation periodically

  • Investigate all quality defects and recommend corrective actions

  • Support sales department on technical queries and explanation

  • Support sales department in repsonding to quality issues and troubleshooting such issues faced by the customers

  • Support toll-blending on new formulation updates from customers

  • Support test oil requirements (Oronite) in formulation and conducting tests, investigate and provide explanations if test results are not within specs

  • Support early stage technical discussions with potential customers

  • Evaluate additives and recommend options based on requirements

  • Recommend alternative raw materials as required

  • Calculate and update pricing for all blended products (FG)

  • Maintain and update PDS, MSDS database

  • Maintain and update QMS/Quality manual with respect to ISO requirements

  • Monitor and place order for lab consumables

  • Maintain all lab equipment as necessary (calibration, preventive maintenance etc)

  • Plan standby schedule for Chemical Engineers/Lab Techs to support operations during off-office hours (OT, PH)

  • Conduct performance appraisal for Chemical Engineers/Lab Techs


Job Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/ Chemical Engineering & Chemistry or related disciplines.

  • At least 5 years working experience as Chemist/ Chemical Engineer

  • Experience in petrochemical industry will be an added advantage.

  • Self discipline, self motivated and self learning; Ability to multi-task and adaptive to situations; Team Player.

Job Description:



  • Review sample taken and testing procedures, recommends corrective actions (i.e used oil, production)

  • Review formulation, testing procedures,and analyze blending failures, recommends corrective actions.

  • Issue COA and document and document Sales Notice.

  • To develop product quality standards and testing procedures, if required.

  • Lab Testing and Blending for New product formulation, prepare PDS and MSDS.

  • Troubleshooting non-conformance products (during production).

  • Purchasing lab supplies and preparing ordering lists.

  • Lab inventory control and chemical waste management.

  • Lab equipment maintenance and calibration.

  • Renew API & OEM certificates and licences (gov).

  • Ensuring all the documents are filed according to the requirements of ISO 9001 standard.

  • Preparing R&D report,new product quality standards, new testing procedures, PDS amd MSDS.

  • In-charge of used oil analysis and prepare OAR.

  • Conduct additive and lubricants training.

· Primary responsibility to ensure integrity of the Group’s financial accounting, management accounting and


reporting process


· Oversee internal controls, financial risk and risk management oversight of the AP Oil International Group of

· Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory requirements, corporate policies; and


· Responsible for timely and quality financial reporting, financial management and financial controls of the Group



  • Quarterly financial and management reporting, including variance analysis, cash flow and segment reports.

  • Half year and annual financial statements for SGX announcement

  • Annual financial budget in support of business strategies


· Responsible for all tax and audit matters of the Group.


· Oversee and support financial operations of local and foreign subsidiaries


· Ensure timely compliance with local tax regulation and optimise the tax position of the Group


· Support CEO in M&A and JV activities, in the financial analysis and evaluation


· Undertake ad-hoc, special projects as and when assigned.


Job Requirements:


· Degree in Accountancy/Qualified CA/CPA and/or CFA


· Post qualifying experience of at least 12 years, with 3-5 years in similar role in Listed Company or MNC,


audit experience of 3 years in reputable public accounting firm.


· Experience in SGX reporting & statutory accounts Independent, analytical with business acumen
