Senior Regional Compliance Manager

What you will do:



  • Take ownership of the company wide compliance activities and review regulations, implement policies as well as review them regularly

  • Lead employee training sessions on relevant legal and compliance matters for new joiners, as well as refresher trainings (including the preparation of training material)

  • Be the point of contact with countries regulators for regulatory / licensing related matters and provide guidance to the management team on how we can stay compliant in the future

  • Work with cross functional teams to provide a compliance assessment upon new product launches, and take ownership of ensuring compliance of existing and new products to help the company grow its business in a healthy way

  • Make compliance fun and smooth to all stakeholders, wherever possible

    Lead company's Personal Data Protection, Anti-Money Laundering and any related Insurance or Payment Act Regulations efforts

  • Provide internal support to business development team together with Legal team

  • Support the COO to ensure the company’s GRC framework is continuously reviewed and enhanced in order to help the company scale




What you will require:



  • Excellent communication skills

  • Regional APAC compliance experience

  • Minimum 6 years of compliance experience in traditional and tech companies

  • Experience in compliance role in Finance / Insurance / regulated industries

  • Experience in AML, Insurance, Payment act regulations, GRC - Governance Risk and Compliance

  • Bachelors Degree in Law/Business or other relevant discipline

  • Certified in ACAMS



Good to have:



  • DPO qualified

  • Internal audit and risk mitigation experience

This role will be responsible for building strategic partnerships and maintaining partner relationships across the Asia Pacific region.




About the Job:



  • Drive strategic business development of new and existing partners across the Asia Pacific region.

  • Identify potential business opportunities and use a combination of data, negotiation, product expertise & relationship management to expedite quote to closure business development cycle.

  • Be an expert on Igloo’s product offerings to address and manage partners’ queries and needs to achieve a better product-market fit.

  • Collaborate with partners on Igloo’s new product offerings or develop new products from scratch backed by smooth product launches.

  • Work closely with internal departments - Finance, Insurance, Technology, Product and Operations to troubleshoot issues, pre and post product launches.


What will you need:



  • Entrepreneurial approach and a self-starter personality are a "must-have"

Chief Operation Officer

About the role:



  • Ensure exceptional levels of compliance and regulatory hygiene, and guide operations excellence activities across the Compan.y

  • Spearhead implementation and monitoring of robust SOPs, policies, controls, and systems to ensure all countries and business units allow the organization to run smoothly and scale rapidly.

  • Oversee business operations - focused on operations including claims management, customer service, invoicing, and collection. (pre-sales, post-sales and finance operations) so as to achieve expected turnaround time and quality services.

  • Lead compliance across the region - this would include managing relationships with regulators and industry bodies.

  • Analyse and provide timely management update on policy insurance & services, underwriting, claims trends and operations risk to deliver high standards of services to management and customers.

  • Serve as subject matter expert to business and staff to determine compliance and regulatory requirements in products and address existing and emerging compliance and regulatory risks in each market.

  • Appreciate technology and work closely with the technical team to look into improvement and enhancement of operations platform which may affect processing, reporting and accuracy. If needed, partner with the business stakeholders to spearhead the design, development and delivery of IT initiatives for Igloo’s Operations. Operational efficiency, effectiveness and cost containment are critical.

  • Responsible to provide IT leadership and direction across the full lifecycle of operations applications, projects and enhancement from planning through implementation.

  • Evaluate and implement new technologies that are capable to digitally transform Claims Operations, policy activation and tracking processes, including Business Rules Engines, Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning and any 3rd party SaaS solutions.

  • Resolve any operational issues with the intermediaries to achieve high service delivery in new accounts acquisition and retention.

  • Work with management in corporate and strategic planning, risk and compliance, regulatory and legal matters.

  • Collaborate seamlessly with other teams and business partners such as Product, Actuary, Finance, Marketing, Client Management, Tech, Legal and Commercial etc. to achieve company objectives and deliver service standards.

Senior Finance Executive

As we are headed towards our next phase of growth and scale, an opportunity has opened for a Senior Finance Executive to join Igloo in Singapore. This role will report to the company’s Senior Finance Manager also based in Singapore.



  • Responsible for day-to-day financial and accounting operations within the group for payment, AR & AP entries, intercompany entries, bank reconciliation, revenue billing, and other transactions

  • Manage month-end and quarter-end closing activities which include reconciliation processes for review.

  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities.

  • Liaise with respective stakeholders (both internal and external) and clear required documentations. External stakeholders include external auditors, tax agents, bankers and statutory bodies.

  • Ensure financial and business-related legislative compliance are met and ensure a clean and timely year end audit.

  • Prepare standard and trade journals; reconcile gross premium and accounts payables, and prepare accounts analysis and audit schedules.

  • Prepare user requirements on finance and accounting related projects with different teams on financial information flow

  • Assisting in the implementation of accounting system, internal control, and policies

  • Participate in month end-closing, and prepare monthly management accounts

  • Perform bank reconciliation (exclude banking transactions/payment) and issue payment/receipt vouchers

  • Compile data for reports related to capital expenditures

  • Ensure timely and accurate month end closing

  • Assist in any ad-hoc assignments and participate in continuous process improvement projects


Key requirements



  • Degree in Accountancy/Finance or equivalent (you are expected to be proficient in double entries and accounting standards)

  • 3 to 5 years of work experience (experience in the insurance industry or ex auditor exposed to insurance industry are highly desired)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Meticulous and attention to details with a control centric mindset

  • Hands-on and comfortable in working in a fast paced environment

  • Proficient in Excel, Word and Powerpoint

  • Having knowledge of the XERO accounting system is highly desirable.

  • Independent, responsible, strong analytical abilities and good time management

  • Good communication skill. Excellent in both written and oral English, additional skill in Mandarin language is a must for liaising with our China’s office.
