Trainee - Finance

$2500 (Monthly)

Key Accountabilities:

1) Receives the billing reports, disbursements and invoices and carries out the initial checks and verifications of input data and related information, so as to determine their completeness and accuracy before any accounting or financial transaction is executed. Upon approval, proceeds to the prompt settlement of all accounts / payments related to vessels, to support their smooth operation

2) Gathers, records and provides data and information concerning the vessels’ financial status, in order to assist the development of reports for management and client use.

3) Supports the issuance of invoices for each client according to the contractual agreements and monitors their timely payment, in line with BSM payments policy, reporting any potential discrepancies from schedule.

4) Support the reconciliation of accounting transactions, as well as prepares and updates all accounting records and subordinate ledgers of the SMC in accordance with BSM accounting policies, chart of accounts, and related accounting principles and practices.

5) Contributes to the smooth operation of the department and provides information or follow-up support for routine queries submitted from clients and colleagues

6) Assists in the execution of internal and external audits by timely gathering and providing all the required information and data as directed by supervisor, thus contributing towards their proper and accurate conduction.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Professional education in Finance, Accounting or equivalent an advantage

Business Development Executive

$5800 to $6000 (Monthly)

Key Accountabilities

1) Support the management, monitoring and coordination of BSM’s overall business development efforts. Identify and address inefficiencies and shortcomings to maximise BSM sales potential.

2) Support the development of centralised market and competitive intelligence capabilities to support lead generation and other business development activities in a targeted manner. Identify business development opportunities and assign to appropriate business units for pursual.

3) Support the business development efforts of BSM business units in developing convincing, accurate and high-quality business proposals as well as other relevant material and information. Promote sales capabilities by increasing the understanding of every BSMer of the value proposition and key selling points of all our services.

4) Support the analysis of the structure, capabilities, and service offering of competitors and monitor their performance. Identify improvement potential and make information available to the organisation.

5) Support the cross-selling efforts of other Schulte Group service by identifying business development potential systematically and drive internal coordination. Fully utilise information generated from market intelligence to support all Schulte Group business units.

6)Support the development, implementation and maintenance of systems for the efficient and effective management of client relations, ensuring that marketing and sales efforts of SMCs and other business units are appropriately coordinated and harmonised and that all information and data with respect to existing and potential clients can easily be retrieved, analysed and disseminated to all parties concerned.

7)Support the further development of client relationship management capabilities and service level through the implementation of tools and methodology

Education & Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree or qualification from an accredited University or College

Work Experience:

  • Good understanding of the shipping industry with direct exposure to ship owner and ship manager activities

  • At least 3 years' of experience, preferbably in Shipmanagement

Job Specific Skills:

  • Good knowledge of the marine sector requirements and trends

  • Knowledge of the global and regional maritime market conditions

  • Familiarity with target markets, customer base and service offerings

  • Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Good administrative, time & project management skills with ability to deliver to time and quality

  • PC literate with effective knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint and CRM products

  • Flexible, self-motivated and self-directed whilst equally able to work effectively as a team member

  • Customer focused (internal and external) with strong interpersonal skills; keen to learn and develop
