Patient Service Officer

Job Description:


The Patient Service Officer will manage all front desk functions of registration, admission, billing and payment collection, including handling of enquires.




Roles & Responsibilities:

- To register patients for outpatient, inpatient and surgical day procedure services.

- Prepare all relevant admission documents, Medisave and/or Medishield applications and insurance matters.

- To provide financial counselling on hospital’s bill size estimation based on estimated length of stay.

- To ensure all inflight documents and payments are up to date.

- To perform cashiering duties including admission deposit and payment collection.

- At end-shift closing, reconcile all receipts and generate cashier drawer reports. Accountable for daily collections and float, if any.

- Attend to telephone and/or walk-in enquiries relating to billings/payments etc.

- To attend to queries from external customers (patients, Physician, clinic staff)

- To perform any other tasks as assigned.

- 5-day work week (rostering of duties includes Sat/Sun)




Requirements:

- GCE ‘A’, ‘O’ or ‘N’ Level, NITEC or Diploma Holders.

- Relevant work experience in hospitality or healthcare industry is an advantage. However, candidates without experience will be considered.

- Pleasant personality with a passion for service excellence.

- Good interpersonal and communication skills.

- Being multi-lingual is an advantage.

Patient Service Officer

The Patient Service Officer will manage all front desk functions of registration, admission, billing and payment collection, including handling of all enquires.




Roles & Responsibilities:



  • To register patients for outpatient, inpatient and/or surgical day care services. Prepare all relevant admission documents including Medisave and/or Medishield applications and private insurance, and explain guidelines to patients and/or next-of-kin where necessary.

  • To provide financial counselling on hospital’s bill size estimation based on estimate length of stay.

  • To perform procedure(s) ordering (when required), verify charges and generate bill for payment.

  • To perform cashiering duties including deposit, payment collection and terminal transactions. At end-shift closing, reconcile all receipts and generate cashier drawer reports. Accountable for daily collections and float, if any.

  • To submit Medisave, Medishield and/or insurance claims and follow up on payment.

  • To perform credit control management of outstanding balances and refund of credit balances.

  • To attend to telephone and/or walk-in enquiries and provide directions where necessary including all feedback and escalate the same to the senior staff on duty, if required.

  • To perform any other duties as assigned.


Requirements



  • 5 days work week (rostering of duties includes Sat/Sun)

  • Diploma in any discipline / GCE 'A' / 'O' Level / Higher Nitec in Business Studies / Nitec in Service Skills / GCE 'N' Levels with Certificate in Office Skills.

  • Pleasant personality with passion for service excellence.

  • Preferred ability to speak two or more languages due to demographics of customers.

Job Description


Provide nursing leadership under the general direction of the Director, Nursing in setting and maintaining quality standards in the delivery of nursing care, resource allocation, staff development, and accountability for the overall performance of the department/s.




Roles and Responsibilities

• Oversee the clinical operations of the nursing services at in-patient wards and ensure constant evaluation to provide safe and therapeutically effective patient care.

• Lead, facilitate and promote clinical safety and risk management practices amongst the nursing and allied health staff in collaboration with related departments.

• Facilitate hospital occurrence reviews by promoting open reporting and a non-blame culture; and a lessons-learnt critical debrief with recommendations for preventive reoccurrence and improvement.

• Mentor, coach and advocate Nurse Managers and Clinicians to achieve the desired leadership and behaviours. Be a role model as well as a counsellor.

• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to achieve the desired level of delivery of care.

• Participate in various hospital operations and committees.

• Be involved in the recruitment, selection, development and retention of nurses and support staff in collaboration with the Human Resource Department.

• To determine, review and recommend departmental capital and operating budgets requirements, inclusive of manpower, for respective cost centres annually.

• To support the Director, Nursing in planning, administration and clinical governance.

• To deputize the Director, Nursing in his/her absence.

• Any other duties assigned.




Requirements

• Valid registration with the Singapore Nursing Board

• Diploma or Degree in Nursing or equivalent.

• Post Graduate Nursing Specialty Certificate / Advanced Diploma in Nursing or Healthcare / Business Administration

• At least 10 -12 years of clinical experience in acute hospital setting.

• At least 5 years’ experience in senior management / leadership in healthcare setting.

• Desired leadership behaviour, aptitude and attitude.

• Good clinical and administrative skills and knowledge.

• Competent in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Assistant Manager, Security & Safety

Job Description & Requirements




To manage and oversee the Security Department and the Workplace Safety and Health Unit of the hospital.



Roles and Responsibilities:




Security

• Lead and manage a team of in-house and agency security officers & screeners in daily operations and to ensure all fire safety regulations, security plan & safe management protocols are complied with.

• Ensure all SOPs are in place and carried out accordingly.

• Review of overall division Risk Assessment Safe Work Procedures & Work Instructions & ensure that it aligns with the latest legislations / Singapore Standards / Codes of Practices if applicable.

• Lead a team of security officers, and will be responsible for the formulation, implementation and review of effective security / workplace safety / fire safety / Safe management and policies to ensure a safe environment for both our guests and our staff.

• Manage the implementation of strategies and plans for inspections, audits, incidents investigations and staff training to enhance safety.

• Develop and manage emergency and crisis management.

• Conduct threat risk assessment and prepare the threat counter measures necessary in accordance to the national or organisation threat risk assessment.

• Coordinate an Investigation and report timely with appropriate recommendation into Criminal acts; Losses and damages; Accidents to lives and properties and Staff misdemeanours.

• Mortuary service.

• Oversee the Mortuary office and the body/parts storage facilities.

• Ensure the availability of Death Registration Service.

• Liaison with relevant ministry in establishing process and controls at Mortuary (e.g RBD, NEA, MOH).




Workplace Safety and Health

• Advise on related workplace safety & health matters under the purview of WSH Act and as per organization’s Policies and Procedures.

• Update, recommend and implement measures (as per organization’s Safe Work Procedure, existing Risk Assessment, etc.) to be taken in the interest of occupational safety and health to minimize & control foreseeable risk in the workplace.

• Conduct WSH inspection and related work as to determine if there is any non-compliance of procedure and practices.

• Investigate any WSH incident(s) which took place arising from the use of machinery, plant, equipment appliance, manual work and check the end- users’ investigation report.

• Act as chairman for the Workplace Safety & Health Committee Meeting and assist in directing the functions of the Committee Meeting (if any); and

• Enforce on existing organization’s management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & OSHAS 18001, if any).

• Conduct & coordinate training courses on Workplace Safety and Health such as Orientation Training and Staff Safety Workshops.




Requirements:

• Degree/Diploma in Administration/Security Management/Workplace Safety and Health or equivalent, with at least 3 years' of relevant experience.

• Preferred to possess a valid Security License (PLRD).

• Preferred to possess a WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health.

• Excellent knowledge of workplace, fire, safety and security regulations and practices.

• Well versed in all fire and safety aspects of buildings.

• Strong analytical abilities particularly with regards to policy and planning, as well as people and capability development.

• Excellent organisation skill.

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to motivate and lead a team towards a common goal.
