Business Development Manager

$5700 to $8000 (Monthly)

About the Role:


We are now looking at scaling our business and diversifying our overall product


portfolio across our group of companies. Specifically, we are looking to enhance


our business operations and market share in Singapore and South East Asia (SEA).


To this extent, we are seeking a seasoned Business Development Manager with


effective selling experience, and excellent organizational, time and selfmanagement


skills to build, manage and grow our Singapore and SEA partners


and channels with minimal guidance or supervision. This is an excellent opportunity

Job Responsibilities:




This position requires frequent communication and coordination with India staff in


their headquarters office in Mumbai. Key responsibilities entail:


• Increase company revenue and develop long-term business growth


strategies by identifying profitable business opportunities (both locally and


globally) across all key existing products, customers and distribution


channels.


• Help diversify the business portfolio by introducing new products to the


market and gathering feedback, thoroughly studying the ecosystem and


competition, and developing the portfolio.


• Manage the entire sales pipeline journey from prospecting, generating


leads, closing opportunities, to customer on-boarding process.


• Contact (including cold calling), generate and develop leads, build solid


relationships, and rapport with potential clients, vendors, distributors.


Maintain and nurture these relationships with an emphasis on after sales


service. Increase the value of current customers while attracting new ones.


• Conduct routine site visits to retail stores and big institutions to study the


consumer ecosystem and solicit new applicable business opportunities.


Research organizations and individuals to find new opportunities. Find and


develop new markets to boost sales.


• Attend relevant tradeshows, exhibitions, conferences, consumer shows,


industry events, etc. to network and identify current market trends and


potential business opportunities. Stay abreast with key market trends and


intelligence with the ability to seek new business opportunities, formulate


sales strategies, capitalize on growing the business and to maintain


competitiveness within the industry.


• Develop and establish our ecommerce presence including setting up


strategies for assortment selection, pricing, supply chain model,


warehousing, content, digital and marketing campaigns.


• Work closely and collaborate cross functionally with internal sales and


operations teams to identify unallocated outstanding inventory and


proactively sell them and to proactively forecast future demand.


• Act as the point of contact for any enquiries from regional and global


distributors.




Key Skills/Requirements:




• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or related


field; MBA or Master's degree is advantageous.


• At least 10 years’ experience in FMCG Industry in a B2B commercial role,


including extensive and proven experience in regional and global business


development, solution based selling or partnerships.


• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and data analysis skills with high


proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications; experience with Microsoft


NAV is a plus.


• Ability to conduct independent market research and analyse business


trends. You should also be able to assess business risks by analysing financial,


statistical, and economic data.


• Adept at negotiating sound business deals as well as demonstrate excellent


relationship management, communication, leadership, and problem-solving


skills.


• Excellent verbal and written communication with attention to detail and the


ability to draft various agreements, contracts, proposals, documents and


other forms of communications as needed to effectively close deals.


• Willing to travel overseas for work purpose (when normal travel resumes).


Experience and familiarity with working in at least 2 South East Asian markets.


• Strong sense of ownership and tenacity to develop ideas and thrive in a fastpaced


environment. Successful track record of driving business to scale and


growth. Detail-oriented and persuasive with a strong business acumen.


• Ability to work autonomously in a highly demanding, ever changing and


often ambiguous work environment. Work closely with internal teams across


geographies.


• Experience in project management, eCommerce is a big plus.
