Fields Services Engineer, APAC

A fantastic opportunity is available to join our growing Automation businesses as a Field Service Engineer, APAC based in Singapore.




Challenges:


· Responsible for installation, commissioning, service and maintenance of equipment and solutions within Ranpak portfolio.


· Manage service hotline, investigate complaints, determine repair requirements until total corrective action is taken.


· Set-up, manage inventory, tools, test equipment, technical documentation and other assigned equipment.


· Support project managers, monitor project progress and ensure all works are completed within the time frame.




Responsibilities


· Install, commission, maintain and/or repair Ranpak equipment according to the given service work order and in line with the applicable service levels while maximizing machine uptime and customer’s satisfaction.


· Collaborate with Ranpak global factories to provide technical support, application support and trainings to customers and/or Ranpak existing and new Partners.


· Work closely with the internal teams to decide course next/different steps.


· Establish, maintain excellent customer rapport during execution of Ranpak services.


· Fully accountable for completing the work according to the service work order.


· Maintains proper record of support and service work conducted.


· Provide prompt, reliable and clear communication to stakeholders.


· Responsible for writing complete, detailed and meaningful field service reports.


· Accountable for handling in timely field service reports (usually last day of work on site).


· Provide prompt, reliable and clear communication to stakeholders


· Involved in projects by providing technical expertise and creative problem solving.


· Guide and coordinate with Project Engineers on site.


· Presentable in proper and cleaned Ranpak outfit, professional towards customer.


· Responsible for maintaining the tools and other equipment in a good condition.


· Responsible for a clean and tidy machine/working place when leaving the customer’s location


· Be available for after-hour, weekend, and Holiday service work, sometimes on short notice.


· Any other duties as assigned.




Candidate Profile and experience


· Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Electronic Engineering.


· Min. five years related experience in packaging and processing machinery or equipment preferred.


· Sound technical knowledge in practical fault-finding on equipment, excellent pragmatic and problem-solving skills preferred.


· Knowledge and experience with technical drawings like blueprints, schematics, Auto-cad, and with PLCs.


· Ability to work with people at all levels and from different cultures and backgrounds.


· Excellent communicator who is independent, resourceful and analytical.


· Good verbal & written communication skills in English (additional languages: Japanese and Chinese are a plus).


· Customer focused, positive work attitude and self-motivated.


· Enthusiastic team player who also work effectively on his/her own accord.


· Good work ethics and good results orientation.


· Well-organized, well-mannered, self-controlled and coachable.


· Adaptable to process, policy, and other changes as part of a dynamic environment.


· Able to work in a fast-paced environment.


· Flexible with working times, due to job nature.


· Heavy travelling within APAC.


· Above average use of computer applications like MS Office.

Fields Service Engineer, APAC

Role



  • Install, commission, maintain and/or repair Ranpak Automation equipment according to the given service work order and in line with the applicable service levels while maximizing machine uptime and customer’s satisfaction.

  • The job is within the After Market Sales & Service APAC department of Ranpak Automation, a division of Ranpak BV. The assignment is to install, commission, maintain and repair Ranpak Automation equipment.




Responsibilities



  • Fully accountable for completing the work according to the service work order

  • Responsible for executing the work safely at all times

  • Accountable for keeping own technical knowledge and skills up-to-date

  • Responsible for letting the customer sign off the service work order

  • Responsible for writing complete, detailed and meaningful field service reports

  • Accountable for handing in the field service reports in time (usually the last day of work on site)

  • Inform the customer and the Field Service Supervisor about the progress of the job

  • Responsible for aligning with the Field Service Supervisor before taking next/different steps

  • Maintain a professional relationship with the customer

  • Be representative and appear in proper and cleaned Ranpak outfit

  • Responsible for keeping the tools and other equipment (e.g. service van) in a good condition

  • Responsible for a clean and tidy machine/working place when leaving the customer’s location

  • Actively contribute to a professional and profitable service organization

  • Any other duties as assigned.


Main Task



  • Follow safety instructions, field service alaerts and quality alerts

  • Installing new machines and machine upgrades

  • Troubleshoot customer machine problems on site or remotely

  • Perform repairs (corrective maintenance) on machines on site

  • Perform preventative maintenance on machines

  • Support the organization to do SAT, go-live and other testing or commissioning tasks

  • Train customer and 3rd party operators and technicians

  • Assist customers in moving and reinstalling their machines

  • Share insights and information with the Field Service Supervisor and the team

  • Provide recommendations to improve the serviceability of the machines

  • Use of authorized service parts and return of unused parts

  • Submit signed service work orders, visit reports and other required documentation in time

  • Keep the tools, cars, vans, clothing and all other used equipment in a good condition




Requirements/Profile



  • Degree in mechanical/electronics/mechatronica;

  • Min. five years related experience and/or training in electronica and mechanics; or equivalent combination of education and experience in engineering

  • Strong mechanical/electronical skills to analyze and resolve problems of complex machinery

  • Able to understand and work with PLCs of different vendors (electronic fields).

  • Logical and solution-oriented thinking

  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and technical drawings

  • Good verbal & written communication skills in English (additional languages: Japanese and Chinese are a plus)

  • Able to work independently as well as in teams

  • Well-organized, well-mannered, self-controlled and coachable

  • Above average use of computer applications like MS Office

  • Willingness to travel most of the time worldwide

  • Flexible in working times (absolute no 9 – 5 mentality)

  • Good time management skills and a strong ability to multitask.

Role




Identifying Business Needs



  • Work with stakeholders to define business and information needs.

  • Support the translation of business needs into analytics and actionable items to drive business growth


Gather and Analyse Data



  • Clean databases to remove duplicated, outdated, or irrelevant data.

  • Develop solutions with data analytics tools, with the objective to provide qualitative insights that drive information need and business goals.

  • Gather and mine data from internal and external sources to identify trends, patterns, and correlations.

  • Perform data validation and quality control checks.


Report Insights



  • Design data reports and use visualization tools to facilitate data understanding.

  • Develop automated and logical data modelsand data output methods.




Responsibilities



  • Build, develop, and maintain PowerBI dashboards, using data from external sources, and internal sources such as SugarCRM and SAP S4/HANA.

  • Conduct predictive and prescriptive analytics to identify and inform forward-looking growth opportunities.

  • Provide to management and sales team, detailed analysis with insight on market share, competition, and market trends to improve lead generation and marketing KPIs such as sales, trial conversion rates.

  • Validate data within SugarCRM and implement quality control of data.

  • Be the APAC CRM Champion and spearhead CRM development efforts.

  • Act as a local CRM helpdesk to resolve CRM-related issues, working closely with CRM Specialist Europe.

  • Identify opportunities for use of advanced data analytics tools and techniques to increase work effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Participate in cross-functional process improvement projects.

  • Any other duties as assigned.




Requirements/Profile



  • Demonstrated success with turning data into actionable analytics.

  • 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing MNC.

  • Degree/Diploma in Business/Marketing/Finance/Data Analytics or other relevant fields.

  • Proficient in MS Office, notably Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

  • Well versed in Power BI, SAP, Infor LN and CRM tools (SugarCRM a plus).

  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively – both verbally and in writing – in English and Chinese. Other Asian languages such as Korean and Japanese a plus.

  • Detail-oriented and meticulous.

  • Self-motivated, independent individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

  • Good time management skills and a strong ability to multitask.
