Flavor & Nutrition is subdivided into two divisions: Flavors and Diana. Flavors develops, produces, and sells flavors and functional ingredients for use in foods, beverages and health products. This includes culinary products and snacks, sweets and desserts, dairy products and ice cream, and beverages and nutritional supplements. Diana develops tailor-made solutions from natural raw materials, which help to improve the sensorial and nutritional performance of its customers’ products. This includes sensorial and nutritional solutions to reinforce its customers’ benefits in the food industry, as well as natural and functional food solutions and palatability enhancers for pet food. Another area are plant cell cultures dedicated to actives synthesis for the food, health and cosmetics industries.

Senior Fragrance Development Manager

$13000 to $17000 (Monthly)

Key Job Responsibilities

1. Evaluation and selection of fragrances

  • Identify potential fragrance options by knowledge of trends / markets / clients / category

  • Complete knowledge of evaluation protocols & evaluations for briefs

  • Ability to evaluate with perfumers & guide them to rework for a winning theme

  • Conduct performance tests / expert panel evaluations as needed

  • Ability to write an olfactive view of a market / category or client for creative learning

2. Management of Briefs/Projects

  • Interpretation of briefs and communicate fragrance directions to Perfumers

  • Manage all aspects by liaising with various departments & global centers

  • Co-ordinate with Cmi for tests

  • Conduct client presentations

  • Manages multiple complex briefs and within the requisite time-frame

3. Fragrance Library Management

  • Scrutinize the library collection by ensuring that fragrance development meet performance and price range criteria required for respective product categories.

  • Constantly review existing fragrances in the library to ensure that they keep updated for the respective product categories.

4. Interaction With Perfumers

  • Establish a solid communication with Perfumers & partner with them for excellence

  • Provide perfumers with accurate evaluation comments

  • Constantly explore new realms with the perfumers through market product learning

  • Evaluate and direct development of fragrance ideas for proactive initiatives

5. Marketing/Product Knowledge

  • Be abreast of trends and consumer habits of the target market (SEA)

  • Identify interesting fragrance directions / notes from key product launches for future creative development

  • Anticipate market tastes; work closely with Marketing on proactive concept generation

  • Familiarity of life cycle of products and trends to predict future directions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide evaluation support for all initiatives of the GCL that mainly include work on fragrance innovation and enhancing fragrance – category performance

  • Lead any global initiative on CMi / creative workshops / special initiative on cleansing

  • Harmonize global tools on evaluation and other key processes

  • Support knowledge exchange & leverage best practises & wins across various regions

  • Strategic guidance to K client briefs with olfactive insights to create a compelling story

  • Support strategic pitches and briefs


  • Bachelor degree or above in any of the Science Streams

  • Fragrance experience is preferred & training in perfumery would be a plus.

Skills Required

  • Excellent communication & presentation skills coupled with analytical abilities & strong organizational skills

  • Good English language skills both in oral and written communications

  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and with global teams

  • Team player, open-minded, diligent with positive attitude & keen sense of learning


  • Over 8-10 yrs experience in fragrance evaluation with atleast 3-5 years in cleansing

  • Experience with P&G / UL / R&B / CP would be a strong positive

  • Good knowledge of fragrance market, products & categories & trends

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities effectively to meet project deadlines

  • Track record of new wins
