Management Trainee / Assistant Manager

Job Description:-



  • To perform opening and closing duties

  • Perform daily operation tasks

  • Provide excellent customer service at all time and ability to handle feedbacks

  • Managing manpower by conducting recruitment, training and coaching to provide the best customer experience

  • Lead and train team members and supervisors to achieve guest satisfaction, operation efficiency and productivity.

  • Manage and oversee all incident reports ensuring the proper actions and documentations are followed through promptly

  • Prepare and submit restaurant supplies ordering promptly to ensure smooth operation

  • Monitor Inventory to ensure that resources are used effectively and minimizing wastage

  • Maintain a high standards of personal hygiene and appearance at all time

  • Ensure compliance to Company Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) as well as the cleanliness and sanitation at work areas

  • Assist in the documentation of sales and operations reports for submission to HQ

  • To ensure proper maintenance, cleaning of service equipment and outlet

  • Undertake ad hoc duties assigned by the Management


Job Requirements:-



  • Candidates must possess strong interpersonal and leadership skill with the ability to foster strong teamwork to expand capabilities

  • Able to work independently as well as in a team

  • Minimum 3 years of Management experience in the Food & Beverage industry is required for this position

  • Guest oriented, service focus and strives to generate loyal patrons and regular customers

  • Self-motivated, eye for details and strong organizational skills

  • Able to work in a fast paced environment

  • Responsible and positive working attitude

  • Willing to 6 days a week on rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays

  • Possess basic command of English for communication

  • Able to start work immediately or with short notice period

Area Manager

Job Descriptions



  • Responsible for an assigned company-owned restaurant

  • Daily reporting of work schedules / actual work result and submission of weekly daily plan (WDR) to Operations Manager for approval

  • Report to Operations Manager for any changes in operations schedule

  • Undertake any ad-hoc assignments from the Operations Manager

  • Drives achievement of Restaurants Performance Measures (RPMs) for assigned restaurants


RPM categories and items (in priority) includes the following:



  • Sales: Achieve target ‘Year on Year Sales Growth’

  • Profit: Meet/Optimise Monthly Controllable Profit and Cost Control Target including Cost of Labour

  • Productivity: Meet/Optimise Target Productivity Levels including Sales per man hour, transaction per man hour

  • Customer: Ensure KOSS Standards in place, and implement measures for its improvement

  • Team Building: Conduct manpower recruitment, scheduling & deployment, retention & resignation procedures (with HR); training certification and quality control procedures, and bench planning


Operations (Restaurants)


Conduct operational evaluations and facilitate the use of results by RGM/AGMs to guide improvement



  • Monitors and supports day-to-day operations of assigned restaurants

  • Exhibits “KOSS” behaviours and drives for customer-focused behaviour in each assigned restaurant

  • Achieving business objectives with exemplary leadership for assigned restaurants

  • Ensures that all equipment are properly maintained and serviced

  • Utilizes restaurant data and daily management reports to evaluate the overall outlet performance for the purpose of improvement

  • Being present and conduct visit in restaurants during operations

  • Has contact and manages all restaurant managers across assigned outlets

  • Work closely with other Area Manager(s) when required

  • Monitor and respond to customer complaints when required

  • Coordinate and arrange on-going maintenance with HQ Corporate office to ensure business continuity


Management (Region)



  • Coach all level of Managers and Team Members in assigned restaurants

  • Maintains focus among restaurant managers on achieving the following target ‘Restaurant Performance Measures’

  • Set target and achieve cost of labour on a weekly basis

  • Review and optimise target sales per man hour and transactions per man hour daily

  • Review all assigned restaurants’ Daily Business Reports on a daily and weekly basis, and identify problems and suggest improvement measures

  • Responsible for controlling costs and in building sales

  • Handle restaurants’ emergencies

  • Enlists the Restaurant Support Centre (RSC) or support divisions as needed to aid restaurants in achieving business goals

  • Act as a point of contact between HQ Corporate office and assigned restaurants

  • Review restaurant spending on a weekly basis


Marketing Related



  • Work closely with Marketing department to execute new products and seasonal promotional items.

  • Exhibit knowledge of new products in order to train all personnel in assigned restaurants including the testing of new products

  • Resolves customer complaints reported by RSC on each assigned store and provides report and improvement measures


Manpower Related



  • Review restaurant schedules to ensure proper staffing levels and restaurant manager(s) coverage on during operating hours.

  • Resolve employees’ concerns and conflicts when required

  • Recognises and motivates all restaurant personnel

  • Conduct recruitments, on boarding and training of restaurant personnel

  • Identify and plan for capital improvement

  • Ensure restaurant management understands compensation and ownership programs

  • Complete Performance Appraisals and Individual Development Plans for restaurant manager(s) Identify area training needs and conduct personnel training/orientation/re-certification if required


Other Requirements/ qualities such as personality traits or skills required for the job



  • Strong in leadership and management skills

  • Active team player & strong communication skills

  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision

  • Resourceful with excellent analytical skills

  • Able and willing to travel overseas

  • Computer Literate

  • Knowledge of Japanese Language will be an added advantage for liaising with Japanese counterpart in HQ
