ICT Support

  • Provide Authority with professional ICT support and additional technical expertise to handle the increasingly sophisticated ICT implementation in Authority;
  • Manage the implementation of ICT projects in Authority, assist the Head / ICT in ICT planning and introducing new ICT solutions that support teaching and learning. He will also execute daily ICT operational and administrative duties, such as procurement and inventory management;

 

Managing ICT Programs

  • Project manage Authority-initiated projects
  • Co-ordinate MOE HQ project roll outs for Authority
  • Ensure project implementation is adhered to MOE policies, guidelines and standards
  • Provide progress updates of projects to the Head / ICT
  • Prepare relevant documentations and guidelines pertaining to the project

Business Solution and ICT Planning

  • Work with the Head / ICT on gathering the ICT needs of the Authority
  • Propose solutions that meet the requirements of the Authority’s including technical specifications and market pricing of these solutions

Procurement of ICT Equipment & Services

  • Assist the Head / ICT in purchasing ICT Equipment & Services based on the Authority’s requirements through bulk tenders, calling tenders and quotations

ICT Resources

  • Assist the Head / ICT to manage the Authority’s ICT resources
  • Assist the Authority and Head / ICT to establish SOP for security of ICT resources
  • Working with other ICT, AV & MRL Staff o Based on instructions from the HOD/ICT, the service staff may oversee and assign work to the ICT TAs, AV TAs, Librarians and any other ICT, AV & MRL support staff in the Authority
  • Other tasks may include:
    1. Proactive scanning of the market for technology trends and new technology tools that support Teaching and Learning and update Authority staff.
    2. Be a point of contact for vendors, coordinating ICT project related matters for Authority.

ICT Training - expected to be proficient and teach students in the following:

  • Productivity software – e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Prezi or others
  • Web design – e.g. Dreamweaver, HTML, CSS, JavaScript or others
  • Graphics design – e.g. Photoshop, GIMP or others
  • Basic video production including sound editing – e.g. Premiere Pro, After Effects
  • Basic programming – e.g. Scratch, C++, Python or others
  • Miscellaneous technology – e.g. 3D printing, project management software or others
  • Any other Authority-based applications and requirements

Scope of work includes:

  • Design the scheme of work and syllabuses for all Year 1 & 2 Computing classes;
  • Conduct ICT lessons for Computing classes according to scheme of work;
  • Identify training needs and conduct training courses for staff and students;
  • Assist teachers in deploying ICT infused lessons and assessment to students;
  • Prepare students for ICT related competitions;
  • Assist / provide training for Infocomm Club, Art Club or other Authority bodies as requested;
  • Digitize past years’ exam papers to auto-mark online assessment;
  • Assist teachers in content creation and design;
  • Prepare teaching materials, exercises and projects for the students;
  • Inform/remind students about Computing schedule and take remedial action on absentees;
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of projects and assignments;
  • Collate and document feedback from students on computing courses;
  • Provide technical consultancy for the development of innovative ideas;
  • Prepare students and teachers to build game-based learning activities;
  • Explore innovative ideas with industry partners especially in the area of educational game building/mobile applications;

Other duties include:

  • Assist Authority in solutions pertaining to ICT-related problems;
  • Provide consultancy and assist all teachers in ICT- related matters and problems;
  • Provide technical assistance to teachers and students in preparation of special events such as Open House, conferences, competitions, projects, etc.;
  • Administrator for LMS and assist teachers on the use of the platform.

 

Requirements - the Services required are set out as follows:

  • The personnel appointed must be registered with Ministry of Education and comply with the Authority’s Expectations of Instructors.
  • Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in providing ICT support and training for Secondary and JC students on areas stated in scope of work.
  • Proficient IT skills (e.g., Python, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Web Application Development);
  • Effective organizational and follow-up skills, giving attention to details and able to multitask;
  • Proactive, self-motivated, mature and independent individual;
  • Good team player with a high level of initiative;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Shelving stock and keeping the library in good order;
  • Provide support for cataloging of new material to the library collection;
  • Processing new materials to be ready for shelving;
  • Managing the library management system and supporting its use by students;
  • Running the overdue system;
  • Help library users to find materials to meet their needs and manage library resources;
  • Encourage pupils and staff in using the library through supporting a range of library-based activities;
  • Supporting the Authority Library Officer with the supervision of students using the library.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Certificate in Office Skills or Higher NITEC/ NITEC in Office Skills or ‘O’ Level certificate
  • Has experience in Library system and environment in Authority
  • Proficient in IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Word and Excel)
  • English & spoken Mandarin
  • Pleasant personality and positive attitude
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • A proactive, self-motivated and independent individual
  • Possess effective organizational and follow-up skills, giving attention to details.

The Services required are set out as follows:  

  • Manage and maintain all installation and facilities in the hall (performance venues)
  • Monitor all equipment used in the PAC, e.g. the piano, music stands, conductor’s stand, sound system, lighting system, air-conditioning system.
  • Able to operate all the equipment in the Performing Arts Centre (PAC).
  • Ensure that the stage is in good working conditions at all times
  • Liaise with internal or external users on the usage of venue, logistics etc, to ensure the smooth running of the events
  • Ensure all users comply with the rules of PAC
  • Training of ushers in ushering audience via evacuation routes in the case of emergency
  • Training of users on the basic operations of equipment in PAC
  • Venue Management 

Qualification & Experience:

  • Has attained Certificate in Basic Fire Safety and Certificate in Audio Sound System or equivalent or other related certifications
  • Has experience in:
    • Management of a performance venue that hosted events by professional performance groups;
    • Stage, sound and lighting setup for performing arts groups, eg. Symphonic band, Chinese orchestra, choir, dance etc
    • Coordination with various performing arts groups.
