What does the Assembly Technician do?
The assembly technician will be responsible for working as part of the production line. The duties and responsibilities will vary depending on whether the machine is a manual, semi-automatic or fully automatic one. The positions will include: setting up the machine for assembly; checking and adjusting the parts before loading them onto the assembly line; making sure that all the parts are correctly assembled; following procedure in order to ensure that each stage of production is performed correctly; moving completed products from the output area over to storage. The assembly technician should have a good understanding of how motors, drives and controls operate as well as basic knowledge about electronic components and their function. An important skill that should be acquired includes identifying common problems with machines and finding solutions to fix them.
